Bundle Pricing Calculator

What should you charge for a bundle?

A bundle gives the buyer a saving and gives you a bigger sale. Price it so both are true: a discount worth having, and more profit than selling one item alone.

Your numbers

Bought separately
$30.00
Bundle price
$25.50
Profit on the bundle
$15.00
Margin on the bundle
58.8%

The buyer saves $4.50. You earn $15.00 from one sale, against $12.00 if they had bought only the first item.

The Products tab in the kit holds the cost and price of every item, so pricing a bundle takes a minute.

How the sum works

  1. Bought separately = the two prices added together.
  2. Bundle price = that total times (1 minus the discount).
  3. Profit on the bundle = bundle price minus the cost of both items.
  4. Compare that profit with what you earn when a customer buys only one item.

Questions

How big should a bundle discount be?

Big enough for the buyer to notice and small enough to keep a healthy margin. Try a few percentages here and watch the margin on the bundle.

Which products should I bundle?

Products that are used together, or a best seller paired with a slower one you want to move. The best seller brings the buyer in and the bundle clears the slower stock.

Does a bundle save on postage?

Usually. Two items in one parcel cost less to send than two parcels, which adds to the profit on a bundle.
